How do I reset what Khao has learned?
You → 🔒 Privacy & your data → Delete my data. This clears your palate, history and
settings on the device, and there is no copy of them anywhere else.
Can I see what Khao knows about me?
Yes. You → 🔒 Privacy & your data → Export my data writes it all out as a readable
file. The file is made only when you tap the button and is deleted again when you leave
that screen.
How do I change language?
You → Language. Khao is available in English and Hindi.
Where is my data stored?
On your device. Khao has no account system and no analytics — see the
privacy policy.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-up, no login and no password. Khao works the moment you open it.
Does Khao need the internet?
No. Every suggestion is worked out on the phone, so the app works offline. The one thing
it fetches is an updated dish list, and that request carries nothing about you.
If you are unhappy with how your information has been handled, write to Anirudh Kapoor at anirudhkapoor1996@gmail.com — he is the grievance contact for Khao. You will get a reply within 90 days as India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 requires, and normally far sooner. If the answer doesn't satisfy you, you can take it to the Data Protection Board of India.
